Custom QR Code Generator: Colors, Shapes and Logo
Design a custom QR code for free: pick the module shape, the eye style, colors or a gradient, and add a logo. Every change is read back with a QR decoder, and the SVG, PNG, WebP and JPEG downloads unlock only when the code scans to your exact content. Nothing is uploaded.

Checking…Waiting for the check.
Every change is read back with the same decoder as the Barcode.codes scanner; the downloads stay off until it reads the exact content.
How to Customize a QR Code
Enter the content, choose the style and colors, add a logo if you like, and download once the check passes.
- Type or paste the web address or text.
- Choose the module shape and the style of the three eyes.
- Pick the module and background colors, a gradient or a separate eye color.
- Add a logo if you want one, then wait for the Scans badge.
- Set the X-dimension and output DPI, then download SVG, PNG, WebP or JPEG.
QR Code Design Options
The designer changes how the modules and eyes look and what colors they have, never the data or the quiet zone.
Module Shapes
- Square: the classic look, each module a full square.
- Rounded: squares with rounded corners.
- Dots: a round dot for each module.
Eye Styles
- Eye frame: the outer ring of the three corner squares: square, rounded or circle.
- Eye center: the solid center: square, rounded or circle.
- Eye color: optional, a second color for the eyes only.
Colors and Gradients
- Module color: any color darker than the background.
- Background: any lighter color, white by default.
- Gradient: a diagonal blend from the module color to a second color; both must contrast with the background.
Rules That Keep a Custom QR Code Readable
A design that breaks one of these rules is blocked with the reason, and every allowed design is still read back before download.
| Rule | Why |
|---|---|
| Modules darker than the background | QR codes are normally printed dark on light; the designer does not rely on scanners reading reversed colors |
| Contrast of at least 4:1 between each module color and the background | Pale colors on white blur into the background for a camera |
| A quiet zone of 4 modules on every side | Scanners need the blank margin to find where the code starts |
| A logo no wider than 30% of the code, with error correction H | Error correction can rebuild only part of the code |
| The design read back to the exact content | The final test of every combination before download |
Custom QR Code Colors
Dark, saturated colors on a light background work best; the designer measures the contrast of each color you pick.
Navy, dark green, burgundy or black on white or cream pass easily. Yellow, light gray or pastel modules on white fall below 4:1 and are blocked, and so is any design with lighter modules than its background.
Static QR Codes That Never Expire
Each custom QR code holds your content directly, so it keeps working without an account or subscription.
There is no redirect through Barcode.codes, so scans are not counted here and nothing can be switched off later. To change where a code leads, make and print a new code.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Custom QR Code Generator Free?
Yes: every shape, color and logo option, with no account and no watermark. The designs are made in your browser.
Can a QR Code Be White on Black?
This designer does not make reversed codes: the modules must be darker than the background. That keeps your code from depending on whether a scanner reads reversed colors.
Will My Custom QR Code Still Scan?
The designer reads every version back with a QR decoder and only lets you download designs that read your exact content. Print a test copy as well, at the size it will be used.
Can I Change the Content After Printing?
No. The content is in the code itself, so a new content needs a new code. That is also why it never expires.
Should I Download SVG or PNG?
SVG for print and design software: it is sized in millimeters from the X-dimension and stays sharp at any size. PNG, WebP or JPEG for web pages and documents, drawn at the output DPI with whole pixels per module; PNG and JPEG store the DPI in the file.
How Big Should a Custom QR Code Be Printed?
The print size is the number of modules times the X-dimension you set, and it is shown under Size and resolution. A larger X-dimension makes a bigger code that reads from farther away, while longer content or a logo adds modules. Print a test copy at that size and scan it from the distance it will be used.
Can I Add a Logo to a Custom QR Code?
Yes. Upload it in the Logo section; error correction then switches to H and the modules behind the logo are cleared.
